Cara Mocarski of Shelton, principal owner of Cutting Edge Communications in Shelton, an award-winning public relations and special events firm, recently was a keynote speaker at the University of Connecticut in Storrs as part of the Career Services Speaker Series. Mocarski spoke to over 30 students about pursuing careers in public relations.

She has been in the communications/public relations field for over 30 years and is a member of the Better Business Bureau, Connecticut. She is also very active with the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce as an Ambassador and social chair of the Women In Networking (WIN) Leads group.

Mocarski also spoke at two statewide events this spring. She co-presented “Marketing for Members in the Millennium” at the Connecticut Parent Teacher Association Convention on Saturday, May 8 at 9:15 a.m. at the Southbury Hilton, Southbury. She teamed up with Janet Maurice of Trumbull, WebPlus Design Studio and Malin Zergiebel of Brookfield, TSGWebPlus, to make this presentation. In addition, Mocarski talked about “World Class Public Relations on a Shoestring Budget” with a public relations colleague at Business Showcase 2004 on Wednesday, May 12 at 1 p.m. at Sacred Heart University, Fairfield. Mocarski is currently a member of the Booth Hill School Building Committee in Shelton and a member of the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of Western Connecticut.
